Vocalist Chely Wright was born October 25, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri. A fan of Connie Smith, Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson, she joined her first band, County Line, when she was 11 years old, and was playing professionally while still in high school. After performing in Branson, Missouri, she became a featured act at Nashville's Opryland. Wright issued her debut LP Woman in the Moon in 1994; her sophomore effort, Right in the Middle of It, followed in 1996. Single White Female was released in 1999.
